Upcoming Projects

The upcoming projects of the trust are related to health and livelihood.

The projects are–

Installation of Arsenic Removal Filter for providing uncontaminated drinking water in the rural areas
This is a project on securing a clean environment by installing number of Arsenic Removal Filters to get rid of the toxic material from the drinking water to be consumed by the rural people in the Arsenic prone regions.
Installation of Arsenic Removal filter for providing uncontaminated drinking water in the rural areas will not only reduce the health hazard of due to arsenic contamination but will also improve the quality of the life of the poor rural people of South 24 Parganas which has been declared as an Arsenic prone area by WHO.

Mobile Health Unit (MHU) for providing life saving emergency health service
Mobile Health Unit for providing life saving emergency health service to impoverished and disadvantaged groups with focus on delivering mothers and children under 5 years.
This project aims to cater to the people living in the remote zones, having no access to proper health care infrastructure and very poor transport facilities to reach the nearest medical centres/hospitals, which are actually quite far.People living in such villages, especially pregnant women, are worst victims as they are deprived of proper delivery facility. Even children do not get vaccinated ,people facing emergency health cases often are victims of death due to lack of basic treatment within a proper time .Health check –up too is hardly a regular phenomenon there due to remoteness of the areas.

Periodical Health and Eye check up camps and distribution of spectacles to marginalised community
Availability of health care services to the marginalised and from the below poverty line section of the people is inadequate. It is very difficult for these kinds of people to move to district hospital to get medical services.
In order to provide health check up services including eye checking at the locations of the patients, Periodical Health and Eye check up camps and distribution of spectacles to marginalised community is organised and run by paramedical teams under NGOs.

Installation of Special Garbage Bin in Municipality area
The objective of the project is to help local civic authority to gather domestic garbage from the community area and its proper disposal. Installation of these robust garbage disposal vats will generate awareness about health and environmental issues.

Distribution of Text Book to the underprivileged students
Students in high school require number of text books and notes to follow for learning apart from securing good marks which is very crucial for higher education in our present system. In rural and semi urban places most of the students come from economically challenged family who cannot afford to buy all text books and eventually left out of their school for poor result.
The project of distribution of text books to the underprivileged high school students is proved to be very effective to improve the overall position of the education in the underprivileged section of our society.

Basic education through electronic media bringing digital device
The objective of the project is to establish Computer Aided Learning infrastructure or rural children and to carry out the new method of teaching using the system named and promoting Adult Literacy software, the aim of which is to provide the adults with an intelligent and multimedia base interface that will aid the learning process of the adults. Also it aims at creating awareness regarding health and environmental issues through attractive multimedia contents.

Distribution of Effective First Aid Box to high schools
Basic training on first aid is very useful for all segments of people. This can save people from small to fatal injuries in everyday life .It is also useful during the natural calamities and help to manage disasters to some extent.
The project of basic training on First Aid and providing an all purpose First Aid box to the high schools aims to address the basic need of a man during an accident or emergency. It consists of two parts-
1. Providing training
2. Distribution of all purpose First aid box

Distribution of sewing machines to  Self Help Groups     – Addressing Livelihood support-

 Self Help Groups are formed by the members of under privileged people requiring  means of earning for their livelihood. Sewing machine donated to a SHG will empower them to pursue tailoring service for earning their livelihood. Sets of sewing machines supplied to a garment making unit formed by the members of SHG will also facilitate employment generation and economic sustainability of the community they are coming from.

Distribution of working tools to the landless agricultural labourers- Addressing Livelihood support-

Daily labourers earn their livelihood by way of rendering physical labour mostly in agricultural field. Skilled and equipped persons get better wages. Thus by providing useful tools like  ‘Kodal’, ‘Gaitee’, Axe, Hammers, Shovel, etc to labourers, it will facilitate them to get better job and delivering better service.

Installation of Solar Lamp post in selected Gram Panchaet area – Improvement of quality of Living, Environment-

Solar street lights give immediate lighting solution in any given situation. Solar Street Lights function with the help of Solar Energy. They get charged during the day when the sun is out working and photocells or timers help them to identify dusk and get switched on from dusk till dawn. The power with which Solar Street Lights operate might range from 20 to 200 Watts that can be served by lead acid storage batteries that is fitted in the post. Main features of standalone systems are:

  • In remote places, where is no grid connection at all.
  • Use of renewable energy reduces carbon footprint.
  • Generates awareness of harnessing solar energy which may lead to other uses as well.


Distribution of Hearing aid device through primary health centers –Addressing  Health care, Human Right-

Large numbers of people are suffering from poor or totally loss of hearing and experiencing inferior quality of life. Providing hearing aid device to the needy people will improve the quality of their live and enable them to continue their working life. Medical check-up for hearing impairment reveals the need of the instrument to be used. Apart from humanity the project also addresses the right of marginalised people to get free medical service in the community. 

Service of battery operated vehicles transporting physically challenged/aged people in university campus –  Addressing Humanity, Environment Battery operated vehicles will be arranged to shuttle in the university campus transporting physically challenged/aged people helping them to assess university perusing higher studies or for other purpose.

Distribution of Clothing to BPL  people in rural areas – Addressing Human Right, Quality of living-

Many families under BPL category of poor people find it extremely difficult to buy adequate clothing for all of its’ members. Aim of the project is to provide basic need of ‘Kapra’ to the needy people and let them feel comfortable to meet other people in the community. Clothing in this project includes Sari, Loongi, Frock, Shirt and Pant of ordinary standard.

Distribution of medicated mosquito nets in tropical areas – Addressing Public Health need-

Viral diseases especially Encephalitis and Malaria often break out in tropical areas of North Bengal and South 24 Parganas district.This project aims at prevention of such mosquito borne diseases through the use of special mosquito nets that repel  the carrier and thereby protects people sleeping at night in affected locations. 

Installation of synthetic tanks for storage of drinking water in rural areas – Addressing scarcity of Drinking Water, Public heath-

Storage of drinking water ensures future use and also enables to maintain hygienic condition in households. It also supports    ‘Jol dhoro – Jol bhoro’ campaign launched by WB state govt. recently and is suitable for CSR project as well.

Providing materials for low cost housing with sanitation facility in flood prone areas –  Addressing Humanity, Public Health and Disaster management-

Promoting Low-Cost, Flood-Resilient Shelters. Numbers of homeless people looking for shelter every year during flood devastation. Marginalized people, basically laborers, living inhuman life under the open sky along with their family for the want of shelter and proper sanitation provisions.

With the supply of low cost housing materials like bamboo, corrugated sheets of tin and toilet blocks, the homeless laborer can make their own shelters.  

Adopting a tribal village for holistic development -  Addressing Livelihood / Infrastructure/ Healthcare/ Education/ Environment-

The objective of Village Development Programme is to develop the selected village in an integrated manner. This would include economic development (livelihood), infrastructure development and other aspects of human development (basic amenities) i.e., health, education, safe drinking water, sanitation etc. The Plan should aim at developing the selected village in such a manner that it becomes a replicable ‘model’ for holistic development.Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi , in his independence day speech, has emphasised  the need of developing model villages with the participation of corporate under CSR project.


Skills and knowledge are the driving forces of economic growth and social development for any country. The current capacity of the skill development programs is 3.1 million. India has set a target of skilling 500 million people by 2022. The field of engineering is in great demand since last many decades. Even today, amongst students passing out from senior secondary board or doing diploma and  most of the youth inclination is seen being shifted to the field that offers sparkling career in several of its disciplines. According to industry professionals, a degree holder is preferred over a diploma holder in the same field. Degree programs give more in-depth knowledge and potentially start you at a higher level.

Therefore meritorious but economically backward Polytechnic students both Boys & Girls  who wish to pursue B.Tech  course will be the direct beneficiaries since they cannot afford  preparatory training required for the stated competitive exam.

Circulations will takes place in the Higher Secondary colleges of West Bengal Council and list of the beneficiaries will be authenticated by the concerned schools.   

 Water Ambulance Services in fringe villages

A unique and first ever Watercraft with emergency health equipments and sanitary system for periodic clinical interventions in the 14 village areas spread over Sundarban Tiger Reserve. Target Area: 14 villages located on the fringes of the Sundarban Tiger Reserve Enabling the rural population to reach the Health facilities at the earliest in case of emergency Round the clock services for the benefit of patients at remote places, where transportation at night is difficult Transportation of pregnant mothers for delivery cases to facilitate institutional delivery Speedier transportation of accident and other critical cases to nearest rural hospitals or block primary health centers .The movable unit, i.e. the Water Craft will serve the purpose of mobile health awareness camp as well as an ambulance on aquatic surface in the dire need of any acute health problem.

Diagnostic facilities in remote villages

The project initiates to strengthen the health and medical care services in backward zone. The purpose of these initiatives is to improve the health status of the poor and vulnerable population in the Sundarban. There is huge inequality in health-care distribution. The poor infrastructure of rural health centers makes it impossible for local population to have proper healthcare. In addition, these poor villagers spend most of their out-of-pocket health expenses on travel to the specialty hospitals in the city and for staying in the city along with their escorts. The objective of the project is to ensure greater access of the people to quality diagnostic services at affordable cost.
